I went to Today’s Dental a couple of weeks ago to start the journey of taking better care of my teeth. The first appointment I had was to go over an examination of my teeth, take dental X-rays, and make a plan on which teeth to tackle first. When first coming into the office, my Mom and I were greeted by a nice gentleman named Mr. Guiste, who is also from the Virgin Islands, and his wife Dr. Guiste. ☺️ When doing the dental X-rays, the dental assistant Ms. Tiffany was really kind and patient with me over myself having a bad gag reflex, so it makes it difficult to have a X-ray camera held in my mouth for a long period. As I’m trying to distract my brain by looking out the window at the plants outside and it not working, she came up with an idea and started to sing the “chicken dance song” as a way to distract me and it worked!! 😂 We were able to get the X-rays by her helping distract me long enough by singing different songs like “the carnival song” and also the “twinkle twinkle star song”. After coming up with a dental plan and I came back the next week for my first tooth extraction, I did use anesthesia as I haven’t had a tooth pulled in a few years and wasn’t sure how comfortable I’d be this time. After a few minutes I calmed down and actually took a nap in between the numbing injections and waiting for it to kick in before extracting. Ms. Tiffany was the assistant helping Dr. G extract my tooth, and I had no pain when it came to the numbing injections and no pain when extraction was happening. She really is the Gentle Dentist!! 🦷😃 I had a very good recovery with my tooth extraction, and have another appointment next month, and I’m looking forward to having this office as my regular Dentist to go to. Mrs. Kim was my hygienist for the first time today and she took such great care of me. She was very gentle with my sensitive gums and made my cleaning enjoyable. I appreciate her listening to my concerns and doing everything she could to make me comfortable!
